The Thunder - 13:14
The true prayer is addressed to Him. Those whom they call to besides Him cannot answer them in any way. Like one who stretches out his hand for water, but nothing reaches his mouth. The prayer of the disbelievers is in vain.
The true supplication is that which is addressed to Allah:
Ta-Ha/20:14
I, yes, I am Allah; there is no god but Me. Serve Me and observe the prayer in remembrance of Me.

"Say: "My prayer, my worship, my life and my death are for Allah, the Lord of the Universe."
The Heights/7:29
"Say: "My Lord commands justice. And invoke Him in every mosque (place of worship), ascribing religion to Him alone. To Him you will return as He first created you."

And if My servants ask you about Me, let them know that I am near, and I answer the call of him who calls to Me. They should respond to me and believe in me that they may find the right path.

"Say: "Who can deliver you from the darkness of the land and the sea when you cry out to Him, secretly and openly, ´If You deliver us from this, we shall be of the grateful ones´?"

"Say: "Allah saves you from it and from all distress. Yet you still associate partners."
Prophet Hud/11:61
"And to Thamud sent their brother Salih. He said: "O my people, serve Allah, there is no god but Him. It is He who brought you out of the earth and created you and settled you therein. So seek forgiveness from Him and then turn to Him. Surely my Lord is Near, the Answerer."
Prophet Joseph/12:33
"(Joseph:) "My Lord, prison is better than what they call me to. If you do not repel their plans from me, I will be of the ignorant ones."
Prophet Joseph/12:34
His Lord answered his prayer and warded off their plans from him. He is the Hearing, the Knowing.

Noah had also called upon Us before. We answered his prayer by saving him and his family from great distress.

"And ZanNun (i.e. Jonah, whose name has the letter ´Nun´ in it)... He left his post in protest. He thought that We could not control him. Finally, in the darkness (in the belly of the fish) he said, "There is no god but You. You are almighty. I have done wrong,"he pleaded."

We responded to his supplication and delivered him from sorrow. This is how We deliver those who believe.

"And Zachariah. He had supplicated to his Lord thus: "My Lord, do not leave me alone; You are the best of heirs."

We accepted his prayer and gave him John. And We improved for him the condition of his wife, because they were competing in good deeds, and they called upon Us in hope and fear. They were those who respected Us.
The Ants/27:62
Who responds to the call of the distressed, and removes evil and makes you heirs of the earth? Is there another god besides Allah? How little do you take admonition?
Council/42:26
He answers the call of those who believe and do righteous deeds and increases His grace for them. But the disbelievers deserve a severe punishment.

We tested the people of Pharaoh before them, and an honorable messenger went to them:

Do not be arrogant against Allah. I have come to you with a clear proof.

I seek refuge with my Lord and your Lord from your stoning me.

If you do not believe in me, at least leave me alone.

"And he pleaded with his Lord, "These are a guilty people."
The Smoke/44:23
Set out with my servants by night. You are being watched.
The Smoke/44:24
Leave the sea parted. They are an army doomed to drown.
The Jinn/72:18
The masjids belong to Allah alone, so do not call upon anyone besides Allah.
