The Prophets - 21:87
"And ZanNun (i.e. Jonah, whose name has the letter ´Nun´ in it)... He left his post in protest. He thought that We could not control him. Finally, in the darkness (in the belly of the fish) he said, "There is no god but You. You are almighty. I have done wrong,"he pleaded."

We responded to his supplication and delivered him from sorrow. This is how We deliver those who believe.

Prophet Jonah/10:98
The people of Jonah would have been an exception to this, even if there had been a people whose belief did not benefit them; when they believed, We removed from them the humiliating torment of this worldly life, and We made them live in blessings for a while.
The Pen/68:48
Be patient that the judgment of your Lord may be realized. Do not be like the companion of the fish (Jonah). He called out while he was being swallowed (by the fish).

Had not a Blessing from his Lord reached him, he would have been thrown on a barren shore, condemned.
