The Stories - 28:47
"So that when a calamity befalls them because of what their own hands have wrought, they may not be able to say: "Our Lord, if you had sent us a messenger, we would have followed your verses and been of the believers"..."
The good that befalls us is from Allah and the evil that befalls us is the result of our own deeds.
Council/42:30
Any evil that touches you is a consequence of what you used to do. And He forgives most of them.

If they turn away, We have not sent you to them as a guardian; your duty is only to inform. When We give man a taste of mercy from Us, he rejoices in it; but when evil befalls them as a result of what they themselves have done, then man becomes ungrateful.

"You said, "Why is this also?"when you inflicted (on your enemy) double the damage you had suffered. Say, "(That) calamity is from your own side."Allah is Omnipotent."
