"When our messengers reached Lot, he became ill because of the treatment meted out to our messengers. They said to him, "Do not fear, do not grieve. We will save you and your family. Except your wife; she has been one of those left behind."
Why not Lot's wife?

"Allah gives the example of Noah´s wife and Lot´s wife to the disbelievers. They were under the marriage of two righteous servants, but they betrayed them. Their husbands could not ward off anything from Allah. They were both told, "Enter Hell with those who enter it."
