The Cow - 2:109
Many of the People of the Book desire, out of jealousy in their hearts, to turn you back to disbelief after your faith, even though the truth is clear to them. Forgive them and ignore them until Allah brings His command. Allah is all-powerful.
The truth (the message of the Qur'an) was the content of the previous Books. That is why those who have been given the Book know that the Qur'an is the Word of Allah:
The Prophets/21:24
"Have they taken gods besides Him? Say, "Bring your proof. This is the message of my contemporaries and the message of those before me."But most of them turn away because they do not know the truth."
The Cow/2:101
When a messenger came to them from Allah confirming what was with them, some of those who were given the Book threw the Book of Allah behind their backs. As if they did not know.
The Cow/2:146
Those to whom We have given the Book recognize these truths as they recognize their children, yet a group of them knowingly conceal the truth.
