The Cow - 2:240
Those of you who die and leave wives, let them make a will that their wives should be provided for for a year without leaving their homes. If they leave, you are not responsible for their doing what is proper for them. Allah is Mighty, Wise.
How should a will be made?
The Women/4:7
There is a share for men of what the parents and relatives leave. And for the women a share of what the parents and relatives leave. Whether the inheritance is little or much, (the woman) must take a share
The Women/4:8
If relatives, orphans and the poor are present at the division of the inheritance, give to them also, saying kind words.
The Women/4:9
Beware of those who leave behind weak children and are concerned about their welfare! Let them think of Allah and make appropriate decisions.
The Women/4:11
Allah admonishes you about your children. The man gets twice the share of the woman. If the heirs are only women and there are more than two of them, they inherit two-thirds of the estate. If the child is only a woman, she gets half of the inheritance. If the deceased left children, each of the parents gets one-sixth. If he has no children and only his parents are his heirs, then his mother is entitled to one-third. If he has siblings, then his mother gets one-sixth. All these proportions come after the deceased´s will and the payment of debts. You do not know which of your mothers and fathers and children is better for you. This is the law of Allah. Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.
The Women/4:12
Half of the inheritance left by your wives is yours if they have no children. If they have children, a quarter of what they leave is yours. This share is after the payment of their debts and the distribution of the shares in their wills. If you do not have children, a quarter of what you leave is theirs. If you have children, one-eighth of what you leave is theirs. This share is after your debts have been paid and the shares in your wills have been distributed. If the man or woman who inherits has no children and no spouse, but has one brother or one sister, then one-sixth shall go to each of them. If they are more than that, they share one third. This division should be done after the distribution of the shares in the will and the payment of debts so that no one is harmed. This is a will from Allah. Allah is All-Knowing, All-compassionate.
The Table Spread/5:106
"Believers, when death comes to one of you, let two just witnesses be present from among you at the time of the will. And if death comes to you while you are traveling, two of you who are not of you. If you are in doubt, detain the witnesses after the prayer and say in the name of Allah: "We will not exchange our testimony for anything, not even relatives, nor conceal the testimony of Allah. Otherwise, we shall be among the sinners."
The Table Spread/5:107
"If it is found that the witnesses are biased, two witnesses from the side that was wronged by the previous witnesses take their place and swear by Allah saying: "Our testimony is truer than the testimony of the other two. We will not deviate, lest we become wrongdoers."
The Table Spread/5:108
This is to ensure that they do their testimony properly and that they fear that their oaths will be rejected after they have sworn. Honor Allah and listen. Allah will not guide a people who have gone astray.
