Luqman - 31:18
Do not despise the people in arrogance, and do not go about in the earth boasting. Allah does not love the proud and boastful.

The Stories/28:76
"Karun was of the people of Moses, but he betrayed them and oppressed them. We had given him such treasures that their keys were too heavy even for a strong people. His people said to him: "Do not be spoiled, Allah does not love the spoiled."
The Stories/28:77
Seek the abode of the Hereafter with the favors Allah has bestowed upon you, without forgetting your share in this world. Do good to Allah as He has done good to you. Do not seek to make corruption in the earth. Allah does not love the corrupters.
The Stories/28:78
"He said, "All this has been given to me because of my knowledge and skill."Does he not know that Allah destroyed many generations before him who had greater power and numerical majority than he? The criminals will not be asked about their crimes."

"At one time he came out among his people in all his splendor. Those who chose the life of this world said: "If only we had been given the like of what was given to Karun. Indeed, he is a very lucky man"."

"Those who had been given knowledge said, "Woe to you, for better is the reward of Allah for him who believes and does righteous deeds. Only the patient shall attain it."
The Stories/28:81
We drove him down into the earth with his house, and he had no company to help him except Allah, and he was not of the victorious.

"Those who envied him on the previous day said: "So Allah gives abundant provision to whomsoever of His servants He wills and withholds it from whomsoever He wills. If Allah had not favored us, He would have made us fail. So the disbelievers do not succeed"."

"As for Ad, they were arrogant in the earth unjustly and said: "Who is stronger than us?"Do they not realize that Allah, Who created them, is stronger than them? They were willfully disbelieving in Our signs and miracles."

Finally, We sent upon them a strong wind on an inauspicious day to make them taste the humiliating torment in the life of this world, while the torment of the Hereafter is more humiliating and they will not be helped.
