Yaseen - 36:43 If We had willed, We could have drowned them; no one would have heard their cry, nor would they have been saved.
If He were to punish them for what they have done, their gods would be of no avail:

Prophet Hud/11:20 They shall not escape in the earth, and they have no friend or master besides Allah. For them the torment will be multiplied. Because they could not hear or see.
The Spider/29:39 And Karun, Pharaoh and Haman. Moses had gone to them with clear proofs, but they were arrogant in the earth. They could not escape.
The Stories/28:81 We drove him down into the earth with his house, and he had no company to help him except Allah, and he was not of the victorious.
