The Companies - 39:39
"Say, "O my people, do what you know, and I will do it, and you will know in the future."
The only duty of the Messenger is to make the message clear:

Follow Allah and follow the messenger and be careful. If you turn away, know that it is the duty of our messenger to make clear.
The Cow/2:119
We have sent you with the truth, a bearer of glad tidings and a warner. You are not responsible for the people of Hell.

Messenger, announce what has been sent down to you from your Lord. If you do not do so, you have not announced His messenger. Allah will protect you from the people. Allah does not guide the disbelievers.
