The Ornaments of Gold - 43:32
Do they divide the mercy of your Lord? We divided between them their livelihood in the life of this world, and We made them superior to one another in rank, so that they might cause one another to work. And the mercy of your Lord is better than what they have accumulated.
In the context of verses 30, 31, 32: The disbelievers of the people of the Book of Makkah before their forefathers, who rejected the prophets, the miracles, the books, unless they were given to one of them:
The Table Spread/5:15
People of the Book, our messenger has come to you, who has revealed to you many parts of the Book which you have concealed, and many of them he has not thrown in your faces. And there has come to you a light from Allah and a clear Book.

The only religion approved by Allah is Submission (Islam). Those who were given the Book, after the knowledge had come to them, differed only because of jealousy among themselves. Allah is swift in reckoning for those who deny the signs of Allah.

When a messenger came to them from Allah confirming what was with them, some of those who were given the Book threw the Book of Allah behind their backs. As if they did not know.

After knowledge had reached them, they differed only because of envy among themselves. Had it not been for the promise of your Lord for a definite time, judgment would have been given between them at once. And those who inherit the Book after them are in doubt about it.

"When Jesus came with clear miracles, he said, "I have brought you wisdom and an explanation of what you differed about, so listen to Allah and follow me."

Allah is my Lord and your Lord, and to Him alone you should serve. This is the straight path.

The parties and sects disputed among themselves. Woe to the wrongdoers for the painful torment.
The Kneeling/45:16
We gave to the Children of Israel the Book and wisdom and prophethood. We provided them with good bounties and made them superior over all peoples.

We gave them clear commands. After knowledge came to them, they differed because of envy among themselves. On the Day of Resurrection, your Lord will judge between them on the matters on which they differed.

And when a Book came to them from the Presence of Allah confirming what was with them, what they were expecting, they disbelieved in it, although they expected help against the disbelievers. May Allah´s curse be on the disbelievers!

All the messengers whom We sent before you used to eat and wander in the bazaars. We made you a test for one another; can you endure? Your Lord is the All-Seeing.

"We raised Mount Sinai above them, and We said to them, "Enter humbly through the gate."We said to them, "Do not transgress the prohibition of Saturday"; and We took from them a firm promise."

"Allah sealed their understanding because of their breaking their word, because they disbelieved in the signs and proofs of Allah, because they killed the prophets unjustly, and because they said: "We are fixed-minded", yes, because of their disbelief. Therefore few of them believe."

I supported you with the Holy Spirit so that you could speak to the people when you were in the cradle and when you were grown up. I taught you the Book, wisdom, the Torah and the Gospel, and by My permission you made a bird out of clay, and when I breathed into it, it became a bird by My permission. By my permission you healed the blind and the leper. You raised the dead by my permission. And although you brought clear proofs to the Children of Israel, the disbelievers among them said, "This is nothing but a clear sorcery,"and I saved you from them."
