The Ornaments of Gold - 43:36
And whoever disregards the message of the Most Merciful, We will cause a devil to take hold of him and he will be his companion.
The disbelievers paid no heed to the Message:
The Prophets/21:2
Whenever a new message (dhikr) comes to them from their Lord, they listen to it without taking it seriously.
Prophet Jonah/10:2
"To a man from among them: "Warn the people and give glad tidings to the believers that they have a favored place with their Lord"? The disbelievers said, "This is a clear sorcerer."
Prophet Abraham/14:10
"Their messengers said: "Do you doubt Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth, and He calls you to forgive you your sins and gives you a certain period of time?"They said: "You are but men like us, and you want to turn us away from that which our forefathers used to serve. Bring us a clear authorization"."
The Believers/23:24
"The prominent disbelievers of his people said, "This is nothing but a man like you. He wants to rule over you. Had Allah willed, He could have sent down an angel. We did not hear anything like this from our first ancestors."
The Poets/26:5
Whenever a new message comes to them from the Most Merciful, they turn away from it.
The Poets/26:6
The news will reach them of that which they took in amusement because they denied.
Yaseen/36:30
It is a pity for the people. Whenever a messenger came to them, they used to mock him.
Yaseen/36:31
Do they not see how many generations We destroyed before them and they never returned to themselves?
The Arabic Letter Sad/38:4
"They thought it strange that a warner should come to them from among themselves. The disbelievers said, "This is a sorcerer, a liar."
The Letter Qaf/50:2
"They thought it strange that a warner should come to them from among them! The disbelievers said, "This is a strange thing."
The Sandhills/46:3
We did not create the heavens and the earth and all that is between them except for a purpose and for a definite term. Those who disbelieve do not heed the warning.
