The Ornaments of Gold - 43:5
Shall We stop conveying the Message to you because you are a transgressing people?
For a long time before the Prophet Muhammad, the people of Mecca were not given the Book, and they had become a corrupt and misguided society:
The Congregation - Friday/62:2
He it is Who has sent a Messenger from among the Ummah, one of their own, who recites to them His verses, purifies them and teaches them the Book and wisdom. Before that they were in manifest error.
Yaseen/36:5
This is a revelation sent down by the Most High and Most Merciful.

That you may warn a people who have remained totally ignorant because their forefathers were not warned.
The Stories/28:46
Nor were you on the slope of Tur when We called out (to Moses). But (We inform you) as a mercy from your Lord that you may warn a people to whom no warner came before you, that they may take heed.

The Repentance/9:97
The Arabs are the most extreme in disbelief and hypocrisy. They are the closest to not recognizing what Allah has revealed to His Messenger. Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.

It is permissible for you to seek the favor of your Lord (by trading in the Hajj region). When you leave Arafat, remember Allah in the Holy Place. Remember Him because He has guided you; before that you were astray.

These are the news of the unseen which We have revealed to you. Neither you nor your people knew them before this. So be patient. The result is for the righteous.

They considered the angels, the servants of the Most Merciful, as female! Did they witness their creation? Their testimony will be recorded and they will be questioned.

They are nothing but names that you and your fathers called them, and Allah has not sent down for them any proof. They follow only their delusions and personal desires, while a guidance has come to them from their Lord.
The Family Of Imran/3:103
Hold fast to the rope of Allah, and do not differ. Remember the favor of Allah upon you. When you were enemies, He united your hearts and by His favor you became brothers. You were on the edge of a pit of fire and He saved you from it. This is how Allah explains His verses so that you may be guided.
