The Sandhills - 46:26 We placed them in places where We did not place you. We gave them the senses of hearing and sight and brains. But neither their hearing nor their sight nor their brains were of any use to them, because they deliberately disbelieved in the signs of Allah. And that which they mocked at surrounded them.
Why were the people of Ad destroyed?
Prophet Hud/11:53 "They said: "O Hud, you have not come to us with a clear proof. We will not abandon our religion on your word alone, nor will we believe in you."
Prophet Hud/11:54 "He said: "We say that you have been struck by one of our gods": "I bear Allah as a witness, and you bear witness that I am far from that which you associate as partners."

The Heights/7:65 "And We sent to the people of Ad their brother Hud, saying: "My people, worship Allah. You have no god but Him. Will you not be righteous?"
The Heights/7:70 "They said: "Have you come to us that we may serve Allah alone and abandon what our forefathers served? Bring us what you threatened us with if you are truthful."

Explained in Detail/41:15 "As for Ad, they were arrogant in the earth unjustly and said: "Who is stronger than us?"Do they not realize that Allah, Who created them, is stronger than them? They were willfully disbelieving in Our signs and miracles."

Prophet Hud/11:59 Such were the people of Ad. They rejected the Verses of their Lord, rebelled against His messengers and followed the command of every stubborn tyrant.

The Poets/26:123 The people of Ad also denied the messengers.
The Poets/26:124 "Their brother Hud said to them, "Will you not act righteously?"
The Poets/26:127 And I do not ask of you any wage in return for this. My wage belongs only to the Lord of the Universes.
The Poets/26:128 Do you place a sign (a structure) on every hill and linger?
The Poets/26:129 Do you build strong structures so that you may abide forever?
The Poets/26:130 When you seize, you seize cruelly.
The Poets/26:131 You should listen to Allah and follow me.
The Poets/26:132 Listen to the One who gave you all that you know.
The Poets/26:135 I fear for you the punishment of a great day.
The Poets/26:136 "They said, "It is the same for us whether you give advice or not."
The Poets/26:137 This is the way of life followed by those before us.
The Poets/26:139 So they denied him. Finally We destroyed them. There is a lesson in this, but the majority do not believe.
