The Women - 4:62
"If some calamity befalls them as a result of what they have done, they come to you and swear by Allah, "We only intended to do good and to reconcile"."
People deserve evil as a result of their deeds.
The Heights/7:131
"When good came to them, they used to say: "We deserved it", and when evil touched them, they used to accuse Moses and his companions of bad luck. Indeed, their bad luck is decided by Allah. But most of them do not know."

The Women/4:79
Every good that comes to you is from Allah, and every evil that comes to you is from yourself. We have sent you as a messenger to mankind, and Allah is sufficient as a witness.
