The Congregation - Friday - 62:5
The example of those who were given the Torah and did not fulfill it is like that of a donkey carrying books. Woe to the people who deny the signs of Allah. Allah does not guide the unjust people to the truth.
The disbelievers of the Children of Israel turned away from the verses that were contrary to their interests by not fulfilling them and by changing the verses:
The Cow/2:211
Ask the Children of Israel, how many clear signs We gave them! Allah will inflict a severe punishment on those who change the favor of Allah after it has come to them.

We cursed them and hardened their hearts because they broke their promises. They take the meaning of words out of context. They have forgotten some of what they were warned about. From most of them you will see constant betrayal. Forgive them and ignore them. Allah loves those who do good.

But those of them who were unjust changed the word into something other than what they were told. So We sent upon them a torment from the sky because of their wrongdoing.

"Say, "People of the Book! You will have no basis until you apply the Torah and the Gospel and what has been sent down to you from your Lord."What has been sent down to you from your Lord increases the disbelief and disobedience of most of them. Do not grieve for the disbelieving people."

Because they practiced usury when they were forbidden to do so, and ate the people´s money unjustly... We prepared for their disbelievers a painful torment.

People of the Book, our messenger has come to you, who has revealed to you many parts of the Book which you have concealed, and many of them he has not thrown in your faces. And there has come to you a light from Allah and a clear Book.
