The Cattle - 6:63
"Say: "Who can deliver you from the darkness of the land and the sea when you cry out to Him, secretly and openly, ´If You deliver us from this, we shall be of the grateful ones´?"
The darkness of the land:

Or they are like one who, in the darkness and thunder and lightning and rain pouring down from the sky, sticks his fingers in his ears for fear of being killed by lightning. This is how Allah encompasses the disbelievers.
The Cow/2:20
The lightning almost snatches their eyes! When it illuminates before them, they walk in its light. And when darkness descends upon them, they stand upright. Had Allah willed, He would have taken away their hearing and sight. Allah is all-powerful.
