The Repentance - 9:23
O you who believe, do not take your parents and your brothers as friends if they prefer disbelief to faith. Whoever takes them as friends, they are wrongdoers.
What should be the attitude of the believers towards the families of unbelievers?
The Woman Who Is Examined/60:4
"There is a good example for you in Abraham and those who were with him. Those who were with him said to their people, "We are far from you and those whom you serve besides Allah. We do not know you. There is eternal enmity and hatred between us and you until you believe in Allah ALONE. Except that Abraham´s words to his father, "I will pray for your forgiveness, but I cannot protect you against anything from Allah"(as a mistake). "Our Lord, to You we trust, to You we turn, and to You we shall return."
The Pleading Woman/58:22
You will not see a people who believe in Allah and His messenger and the Last Day taking as friends those who oppose Allah and His messenger. Even if they are their own mothers and fathers and children and sons and sons and brothers and relatives. He has written faith in their hearts and supported them with a revelation from Himself. He will admit them into Gardens in which rivers flow, where they will abide forever. Allah is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him. They are the party of Allah. Surely, the party of Allah will win.
Luqman/31:14
We admonished man about his parents, and his mother carries him with great difficulty. His weaning takes place in two years. You should thank Me and your parents. To Me is the return.
Luqman/31:15
And if they contend with you that you should associate with Me something of which you have no knowledge, do not follow either of them. But you should treat them well in this world. Follow the way of those who turn to me. To Me is your return in the end, and I will inform you of all that you do.

Do you think that you will be left until Allah knows and distinguishes between those among you who strive hard for Him and those who take none as close friends except Allah and His Messenger and the believers? Allah is All-Knowing of what you do.

The Repentance/9:113
Neither the Messenger nor the believers, even if they are relatives, can ask forgiveness for those who associate partners after it has become clear to them that they are the people of Hell.
Prophet Hud/11:45
"Noah called out to his Lord: "O my Lord, my son is of my family, and Your promise is true, and You are the best of judges."

"He said: "O Noah, he cannot be of your family. It is not virtuous for you to ask me for what you do not know. I advise you not to be among the ignorant."
The Night Journey/17:23
"Your Lord has commanded you to serve Him alone and to be kind to your parents. If one or both of them grow old with you, do not even say to them "Ouf"and do not rebuke them. Speak to them in a good manner"

The Manifestation of Losses/64:14
O you who believe, your wives and children may be your enemies. So beware of them. But if you forgive and are tolerant and forgiving, surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
