The Repentance - 9:84
Do not pray for one of them who has died, nor stand by his grave. For they disobeyed Allah and His Apostle and died as transgressors.
Reasons why hypocrites go astray?
The Hypocrites/63:1
"When the hypocrites come to you, they say, "We bear witness that you are the messenger of Allah. Allah knows that you are His messenger, and Allah testifies that the hypocrites lie."
The Hypocrites/63:2
They take their oaths as a shield and lead astray from the way of Allah. How evil is what they do.
The Hypocrites/63:3
Because they disbelieved after they believed, so their hearts were sealed; they do not understand.
The Women/4:88
Why do you divide yourselves into two groups about the hypocrites? Allah has turned them upside down because of what they used to do. Do you want to guide those whom Allah has led astray? You will find no way for him whom Allah has led astray.
The Women/4:89
They wanted you to disbelieve as they disbelieved so that you might become one with them. Do not take any of them as friends until they take action in the way of Allah. If they turn against you, seize them and kill them wherever you find them. Take them neither as friends nor as helpers;

"Some of the Jews change the meaning of words and say, "We have heard but we do not accept,"or, "Your word falls on deaf ears,"or they twist their tongues to mock religion and say, "Raina (be our shepherd)."It would have been better and more correct for them if they had said, "We have heard and obeyed,""We are listening,"and "Watch over us."But Allah has cursed them for their disbelief. Many of them do not believe."

Do you not see that those who have been given a share of the Book have bought error and wish that you should go astray?

Do you not see those who claim to believe in you and in what has been sent down to you and in what has been sent down before you, but they want to follow the laws of the unjust and despotic, while they were commanded to disbelieve in it, but Satan wants to lead them astray.

You should judge between them by what Allah has revealed. Do not follow their pleasure. And let them not mislead you from some of what Allah has revealed to you. If they turn away, it means that Allah wants to punish them for some of their sins. Indeed most of the people have gone astray.

"Some of them even promised Allah, "If He grants us out of His bounty, we will spend our money for charity and we will be of the righteous people."

But when He gave them out of His bounty, they became stingy and turned away.

Because they broke their promise to Allah and lied, He put hypocrisy in their hearts until the Day when they will meet Him.

On the day when the two armies clashed, Satan wanted to mislead those of you who returned because of some deeds they had done. But Allah forgave them. Indeed Allah is Most Forgiving, Most Compassionate.
The Repentance/9:86
"When a Surah came down saying, "Believe in Allah and strive hard with His Messenger,"even the powerful and wealthy of them asked your permission and said, "Let us go and be with those who sit down."
The Repentance/9:87
They consented to be with those who remained behind. Then their hearts were sealed. Therefore they cannot understand.
