The only duty of the Messenger is to make the message clear:

Prophet Muhammad held himself responsible for denying the people. Our Lord reassured him by informing him that past peoples had treated the messengers in the same way and that the messenger was only responsible for the revelation and not for the unbelievers.

They asked him to bring the punishment of our Lord in defiance and mockery, certain that the Messenger was a liar and that they would never be punished:

The requital on the Day of Resurrection of those who denied the messengers and the message conveyed through them:

The destruction of the unbelievers who denied the Messengers and struggled with them is Allah's law that has always been in force, and a reminder and a warning to the unbelievers of the People of the Book in Mecca, who had the same attitude in this regard:
