The polytheists of Makkah used to take as gods the prophets Jesus and Uzeyr from the earth, the clergymen and the angels from the heavens and serve them alongside Allah, hoping that they would help them on the Day of Resurrection:
Show me what they have created like what Allah has created, or do they have any knowledge (revelation) to support that they are gods?
