بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّح۪يمِ
24:21 O you who believe, do not follow the steps of Satan. Whoever follows the steps of Satan, he commands to himself immorality and evil. Had it not been for Allah´s grace and mercy upon you, none of you would have been purified for ever. But Allah purifies those who will. Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.
24:22 Let not those of you who have wealth and means swear not to give to relatives, the poor and those who migrate in the Way of Allah. Let them forgive and pass on. Do you not like Allah to forgive you? Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
24:23 Those who slander the believing women who are chaste and unaware (of evil) will be cursed in this world and the Hereafter, and for them will be a great punishment.
24:24 On that Day their tongues and their hands and their feet will bear witness to what they used to do.
24:25 On that Day Allah will pay them in full what they deserve, and they will know that Allah is the manifest truth.
24:26 Evil women are for evil men and evil men for evil women. Good women are for good men and good men for good women. These (the second group) are far from their rumors. They deserve forgiveness and a generous reward.
24:27 O you who believe, do not enter houses other than your houses without permission and without greeting their people. If you think, you will see that it is better for you.
24:28 "If you find no one there, do not enter it without permission (from the authorities). When you are told, "Turn back,"turn back and go away. This is a purer behavior for you. Allah is Knower of what you do."
24:29 There is no harm in you entering a house that is not inhabited and in which you have your belongings. Allah knows what you reveal and what you conceal.
24:30 Instruct the believers to guard their eyes (not to stare at women) and to guard their chastity. This is a purer behavior for them. Surely Allah is aware of what they do.
24:31 And tell the believing women that they should guard their eyes and guard their chastity and not show their fair parts except those which should be uncovered. Let them cover their veils over their breasts. And let them not show the fair parts of their bodies to anyone except their husbands, their fathers, their husbands´ fathers, their husbands´ fathers, their sons, their husbands´ sons, their brothers, their brothers´ sons, their sisters´ sons, other women, male servants and laborers who do not have sexual power, and children who do not yet understand the sexual aspects of women. And let them not stamp their feet to show off their hidden parts. O you who believe, turn to Allah collectively so that you may be successful.
24:32 Marry your bachelors and your male and female servants of virtue, and if they are poor, Allah will make them rich from His bounty. Allah is Generous, Knowing.
24:33 And those who do not have the means to marry, let them be chaste until Allah enriches them with His bounty. And those captives who wish to obtain a certificate of freedom through marriage - if their intentions are honest - let them go free. And give them out of what Allah has given you. Do not force your daughters who wish to be chaste into prostitution for the temporary benefits of this world. Whoever compels them, then Allah takes into account their compulsion; He is Forgiving, Merciful.
24:34 We have sent down to you clear signs and examples from those who have gone before you and an admonition for the righteous
24:35 God is the light of the heavens and the earth. The example of His light is like this: a cavity with a lamp in it. The lamp is in a glass vessel. And that glass vessel is like a pearly planet. Its fuel is from a luxuriant tree that produces olive oil, which is not connected to the west nor to the east. Its oil gives light almost without touching fire. It is light upon light. Allah brings to His light whoever He wills. This is how Allah gives such examples to the people. Allah knows everything.
24:36 (Such light and guidance) is in the houses that Allah approves and elevates because His Name is mentioned in them. Therein are those who glorify Him morning and evening.
24:37 There are people. Neither business nor commerce prevents them from remembering Allah, observing the prayer and paying the zakat. They fear a Day when hearts and eyes will turn upside down.
24:38 Allah will surely reward their good deeds and increase His favor upon them. Allah sustains whom He wills without calculation.
24:39 As for the disbelievers, their deeds are like a mirage in the desert. He who is thirsty thinks it is water. When he reaches it, he does not find it, but he finds Allah there, and He will take full account of him. Surely Allah is quick in reckoning.
24:40 Or it is like the darkness in the midst of a vast sea covered by wave after wave with a dense mist. Darkness piled on top of each other. When a man stretches out his hand, he can hardly see it. He whom Allah has deprived of light has no light at all.
