بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّح۪يمِ
48:21 As for the other group whom you are not able, Allah encompasses them. Surely Allah is all-powerful.
48:22 If the disbelievers had fought with you, they would have turned and fled. Then they would find neither a master nor a helper.
48:23 This is the Sunnah (system) of Allah that has been practiced from time immemorial. You will not find any change in the Sunnah of Allah.
48:24 It is He Who drew their hands from your collars and your hands from their collars in the heart of Makkah after He had given you victory over them. Allah is the All-Seeing of what you do.
48:25 They are the disbelievers, those who prevent you from the Holy Mosque and from reaching the place of sacrifice. Were it not that there are believing men and believing women whom you would hurt because you do not know them, so that you might unknowingly grieve yourselves because of them... So Allah will admit into His mercy whoever wills. Had they not been mixed with each other, We would have punished those of them who disbelieved with a painful torment.
48:26 When those who disbelieved ignited in their hearts anger and bigotry, the fanaticism of the ignorance period, Allah sent down His peace upon His Messenger and the believers and made them keep their promise of righteousness. They were worthy and deserving of it. Allah is All-Knowing.
48:27 "Allah fulfilled the dream of His Messenger: "If Allah wills, you will enter the Holy Mosque in safety, with your heads shaved and your hair shortened. You will have no fear. He has prepared for you an immediate victory before this, for He knows what you do not know."
48:28 He is the One Who sent His Messenger with guidance and the true religion, to make it superior to all religions. Allah is sufficient as a witness.
48:29 Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah, and those who are with him are harsh against the disbelievers and merciful among themselves. You see them bowing down and prostrating themselves, asking Allah for His favor and pleasure. On their faces are the marks of prostration. This is their character in the Torah. And in the Gospel they are like a plant that has sprouted and grown strong and thickened and stood up on its stems, delighting the cultivators. He enrages the disbelievers with them. Allah has promised forgiveness and a great reward to those of them who believe and do righteous deeds.
