بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّح۪يمِ
5:81 Had they believed in Allah and the Prophet and what has been sent down to him, they would not have taken them as friends. But most of them have gone astray.
5:82 "Among mankind you will find the Jews and the polytheists the worst enemies of the believers. And closest in love to the believers are those who say: "We are Christians". For among them are priests and monks who are not arrogant."
5:83 "When they hear what has come down to the Messenger, you see their eyes overflowing with tears because they recognize the truth. They say, "Our Lord, we believe; count us among the witnesses."
5:84 Why should we not believe in Allah and the truth that has reached us, while we hope that our Lord will include us among the righteous?
5:85 Because of their saying, Allah has given them Gardens in which rivers flow and in which they will abide forever. This is the reward of those who do good.
5:86 And those who disbelieved and denied Our signs and miracles are the inhabitants of Hell.
5:87 Believers, do not forbid the good things that Allah has made lawful for you. Do not exceed the limit. Allah does not love those who transgress.
5:88 Eat what Allah has given you as sustenance, lawful and pure. Listen to Allah in whom you believe.
5:89 Allah does not hold you responsible for the oaths you take at random. But He holds you responsible for what you swear knowingly. If you break your oath, the punishment is to feed or clothe ten poor out of what you usually feed your family, or to release a slave. Whoever cannot find it should fast for three days. This is the punishment for your oaths that you knowingly took. Keep your oaths. This is how Allah explains His verses so that you may respond well.
5:90 Believers, intoxicants, gambling, sacred stones and shrines, and games of chance are filth from Satan. Avoid them so that you may be saved.
5:91 Satan wishes to put enmity and hatred between you by intoxicants and gambling and to keep you from the remembrance of Allah and from prayer. Are you not giving up now?
5:92 Follow Allah and follow the messenger and be careful. If you turn away, know that it is the duty of our messenger to make clear.
5:93 Those who believe and do righteous deeds, there is no sin on them for what they eat, as long as they believe and do righteous deeds in obedience to the commandments, and they abstain from sin and believe, and they abstain and do good. Allah loves those who do good.
5:94 Believers, Allah will test you with the prey that your hands and spears can reach, so that Allah may distinguish those who fear Him even when alone. Whoever transgresses after that, for him is a painful torment.
5:95 Believers, do not kill game while you are in ihram. Whoever of you kills it intentionally, his punishment is that he should send to the Ka´bah as a sacrifice a domestic animal equal to it, to be decided by two just men from among you. Or he must feed the poor or fast the equivalent of it as a punishment. So that he may taste the punishment for what he has done. Allah has forgiven the past. Whoever does it again, Allah will take vengeance on him. Allah is the Exalted, the avenger.
5:96 It is lawful for you to hunt the animals of the sea and to eat them. As sustenance for you and for travelers. Land hunting is forbidden to you while you are in ihram. Listen to Allah, before Whom you will be gathered.
5:97 Allah has made the Ka´bah, the sacred house, the sacred months, the sacrifices and the wreaths marking them, a security for mankind. Know that Allah knows what is in the heavens and the earth. Allah is All-Knowing.
5:98 Know that Allah´s punishment is severe. Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
5:99 The Messenger´s duty is only to announce. Allah knows what you reveal and what you conceal.
5:100 "Say: "The bad and the good are not the same, even if you are attracted by the abundance of the bad. People of understanding, listen to Allah if you wish to succeed (even at the cost of becoming a minority)."
