70:1
An inquirer asked about the torment to come.
سَاَلَ سَٓائِلٌ بِعَذَابٍ وَاقِعٍۙ
|
70:2
There is none to ward it off from the disbelievers.
لِلْـكَافِر۪ينَ لَيْسَ لَهُ دَافِعٌۙ
|
70:3
It is from Allah, the Owner of the Paths of Ascension.
مِنَ اللّٰهِ ذِي الْمَعَارِجِۜ
|
70:4
To Him ascend the angels and the spirit (revelation/commands/Command/Jebrail) in a day equal to fifty thousand years.
تَعْرُجُ الْمَلٰٓئِكَةُ وَالرُّوحُ اِلَيْهِ ف۪ي يَوْمٍ كَانَ مِقْدَارُهُ خَمْس۪ينَ اَلْفَ سَنَةٍۚ

70:5
So be patient with patience.
فَاصْبِرْ صَبْراً جَم۪يلاً
|
70:6
They see it as distant.
اِنَّهُمْ يَرَوْنَهُ بَع۪يداًۙ
|
|
وَنَرٰيهُ قَر۪يباًۜ
|
70:8
The day will come when the sky will be like molten metal.
يَوْمَ تَكُونُ السَّمَٓاءُ كَالْمُهْلِۙ
|
70:9
The mountains will be like discarded wool.
وَتَكُونُ الْجِبَالُ كَالْعِهْنِۙ
|
70:10
A friend does not ask about a friend.
وَلَا يَسْـَٔلُ حَم۪يمٌ حَم۪يماًۚ
|
70:11
They will be shown to one another. The guilty will want to give a ransom to escape the torment of that Day: His sons,
يُبَصَّرُونَهُمْۜ يَوَدُّ الْمُجْرِمُ لَوْ يَفْتَد۪ي مِنْ عَذَابِ يَوْمِئِذٍ بِبَن۪يهِۙ

70:12
Your wife, your brother,
وَصَاحِبَتِه۪ وَاَخ۪يهِۙ
|
70:13
All his relatives who raised him,
وَفَص۪يلَتِهِ الَّت۪ي تُـْٔو۪يهِۙ
|
70:14
And everyone who is on the earth, that he may be saved.
وَمَنْ فِي الْاَرْضِ جَم۪يعاًۙ ثُمَّ يُنْج۪يهِۙ
|
70:15
No, it is a blazing fire.
كَلَّاۜ اِنَّهَا لَظٰىۙ
|
70:16
It is eager to burn
نَزَّاعَةً لِلشَّوٰىۚ
|
70:17
It calls to him who turns away,
تَدْعُوا مَنْ اَدْبَرَ وَتَوَلّٰىۙ
|
70:18
The one who collects and hides it in a safe.
وَجَمَعَ فَاَوْعٰى
|
70:19
Indeed man is of an anxious nature.
اِنَّ الْاِنْسَانَ خُلِقَ هَلُوعاًۙ
|
70:20
When evil touches him, he despairs.
اِذَا مَسَّهُ الشَّرُّ جَزُوعاًۙ
