بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّح۪يمِ
8:21 "Do not be like those who say, "We have heard"when they have not heard."
8:22 The worst of creatures with Allah are the deaf and the dumb who do not use their reason.
8:23 If Allah had seen that there was good in them, He would have made them hear. And even if He had made them hear, they would still have turned away.
8:24 O you who believe, respond to Allah and His Messenger when He calls you to that which will give you life. Know that Allah intervenes between a person and his heart, and to Him you will be gathered.
8:25 Beware of the Fitnah, which will not touch only the wrongdoers among you. Know that the punishment of Allah is severe.
8:26 Remember when you were few in number, oppressed and despised in the earth, and you feared that people would snatch you away. He provided you with a home and supported you with His help and gave you sustenance from good things so that you might give thanks.
8:27 O you who believe, do not betray Allah and His messenger; you would be betraying your responsibilities knowingly.
8:28 Know that your wealth and your children are a test for you, and with Allah is a great reward.
8:29 O you who believe, if you listen to Allah, He will give you understanding to distinguish right from wrong, and He will cover your evil deeds and forgive you. Allah is the Owner of Great Grace.
8:30 The disbelievers were plotting to neutralize you or to kill you or to drive you away. If they are plotting, Allah is plotting. Allah is the most skillful of plotters.
8:31 "When they listened to Our Verses, they said, "We have heard,"and they said, "We could bring the like of it if we wished. This is nothing but the legends of the past."
8:32 "They were even saying, "Our Lord, if this is a truth from you, rain down on us stones from the sky, or bring upon us a painful torment."
8:33 Allah will not torment them while you are among them. Nor will Allah punish them while they ask forgiveness.
8:34 Why should they not deserve the torment of Allah while they bar others from the Holy Mosque? Yet they are not its guardians. Its true guardians are the believers, but many do not know it.
8:35 Their prayers in the Ka´bah are nothing but cheating and forbidding. Taste the torment for your disbelief.
8:36 Those who disbelieve spend their money to prevent people from the Way of Allah, and they will continue to do so. But this will later become a source of sorrow for them and then they will be defeated. Those who disbelieve will be driven to Hell.
8:37 So Allah distinguishes the evil from the good, and He will pile up the evil ones and send them to Hell. Those are the losers.
8:38 "Say to those who disbelieve: "If they cease, what they did in the past will be forgiven. If they turn back, the Sunnah (law) of those who were before is valid."
8:39 Fight them until they abolish oppression and oppression and make the religion the religion of Allah alone. If they cease hostility, surely Allah is All-Seeing of what you do.
8:40 If they turn back, know that Allah is your master. He is the best Mawla (Sovereign/Friend/Protector) and the best Helper.
