Ta-Ha - 20:84
"They are following instruction,"he said, "and I hastened toward you, my Lord, that you may be pleased."
The worship/service of the calf by the Children of Israel despite all the miracles:
The Heights/7:148
The people of Moses made after him a calf of ornaments, a calf with a roar, and idolized it. Did they not see that it was incapable of speaking and guiding them? They became of the wrongdoers by adopting it.
The Heights/7:149
"When they regretted what they had done and realized that they had gone astray, they said: "If our Lord does not pity us and forgive us, we shall be losers"."
The Heights/7:150
"When Moses returned to his people, angry and disappointed, they said, "What evil deeds you have done after me! Have you not been able to endure the command of your Lord?"He threw down the plates, grabbed his brother´s head and pulled him towards him: "Son of my mother,"he said, "these people have taken advantage of my weakness, and they almost killed me. Do not make the enemy laugh by coming upon me, and do not associate me with this cruel people."
The Heights/7:151
"(Moses) said: "My Lord, forgive me and my brother. Have mercy on us. You are the most merciful of the merciful."
The Heights/7:152
Those who idolize the calf will incur a wrath from their Lord and a humiliation in the life of this world. This is how We punish the slanderers.
The Heights/7:153
For those who repent and believe after they have done evil, your Lord is Forgiving, Merciful after that.
The Heights/7:154
When Moses´ nerves calmed down, he took the tablets. On them was written guidance and mercy for those who honor their Lord.
The Women/4:153
"The people of the Book ask you to send down to them a Book from the sky. They had asked Moses for something greater than that and said, "Show us Allah physically". They were struck by lightning because of their transgression. They served the calf even after clear proofs came to them. Again We forgave them, and We gave Moses a clear authority."
The Cow/2:51
We had contracted with Moses for forty nights. But you wronged yourselves after him and served the calf.
The Cow/2:52
Nevertheless, We forgave you so that you might give thanks.
The Cow/2:53
And We gave Moses the Book and the Law so that you might be guided.
The Cow/2:54
"Moses said to his people: "O My people, you have wronged your nafs (personality, essence, soul) by worshipping/serving the calf. Repent to your Creator and kill your nafs (ego). This is better for you in the sight of your Creator."He will forgive you. Surely He is the Accepter of repentance, the Most Merciful."
The Cow/2:92
Moses came to you with miracles, but after him you took the calf as a god and became wrongdoers.
The Cow/2:93
"Remember when We raised Mount Tur over you and took a promise from you: "Hold fast to what I command you and listen."But they said: "We listened and disobeyed". Because of their disbelief, their hearts were deceived by the calf. Say: "If you have believed, how badly your faith is guiding you!"
Ta-Ha/20:83
Why did you hasten to leave your people, Moses?
Ta-Ha/20:84
"They are following instruction,"he said, "and I hastened toward you, my Lord, that you may be pleased."
Ta-Ha/20:85
"He said, "We tested your people after you, and Samiri led them astray."
Ta-Ha/20:86
"Moses returned to his people, angry and disappointed, and said, "My people, did not your Lord give you a good promise? Could you not wait? Or did you break your covenant with me in order to incur the wrath of your Lord?"
Ta-Ha/20:87
We did not break our promise to you according to our own minds. The ornaments of that people were carried to us. We threw them away. This is what Samiri has brought forth.
Ta-Ha/20:88
"He raised for them the image of a braying calf. They said: "This is your God and the God of Moses, but he (Moses) forgot"."
Ta-Ha/20:89
Did they not see that he could give them no answer, nor could he do them any harm or benefit?
Ta-Ha/20:90
"And Aaron said: "My people, you are being tested by him. Your Lord is the Most Merciful. Follow me and obey my command."He had warned them beforehand."
Ta-Ha/20:91
"They replied, "We will continue to serve Moses until he comes."
Ta-Ha/20:92
"He said, "Aaron! What prevented you when you saw them going astray?"
Ta-Ha/20:93
When they disobeyed me? Did you disobey my command?
Ta-Ha/20:94
"He said, "Son of my mother, do not pull my beard or my head, for I feared that you would reproach me, saying, ´Why did you divide the children of Israel, and why did you not keep my word?"
Ta-Ha/20:95
"He said, "What is your defense, Samiri?"
Ta-Ha/20:96
"He said, "I saw what they did not see, and I took some of the apostle´s teaching and threw it away."
Ta-Ha/20:97
"He said, "Go away! Do not even come near it for the rest of your life. Look at your god whom you serve, We will burn it and cast it into the sea."
Ta-Ha/20:98
Your God is Allah, besides whom there is no god. His Knowledge encompasses everything.
Ta-Ha/20:99
