The Prophets - 21:2 Whenever a new message (dhikr) comes to them from their Lord, they listen to it without taking it seriously.
The general attitude of the disbelievers towards the Message that came to them:
The Spoils of War/8:31 "When they listened to Our Verses, they said, "We have heard,"and they said, "We could bring the like of it if we wished. This is nothing but the legends of the past."
Sheva/34:43 "When Our clear Verses are recited to them, they say: "Surely this is a man who wants to lead you astray from the way of your ancestors´ worship."Moreover, they said, "This is nothing but a fabricated slander."The disbelievers said of the truth that had come to them, "Clearly, this is sorcery."
Luqman/31:6 There are some of the people who cling to baseless hadiths in order to mislead the people from the way of Allah and make light of it. For them is a humiliating torment.
Luqman/31:7 When Our verses are recited to him, he turns away arrogantly, as if he had never heard them, as if there were a weight on his ears. Give him glad tidings of a painful torment.
The Kneeling/45:7 Woe to every fabricating sinner!
The Kneeling/45:8 When he hears the verses of Allah recited to him, he persists in arrogance as if he had never heard them. Announce to him a painful punishment.
The Kneeling/45:9 When he learns something of Our Verses, he ridicules it. For them is a humiliating torment.
The Women/4:46 "Some of the Jews change the meaning of words and say, "We have heard but we do not accept,"or, "Your word falls on deaf ears,"or they twist their tongues to mock religion and say, "Raina (be our shepherd)."It would have been better and more correct for them if they had said, "We have heard and obeyed,""We are listening,"and "Watch over us."But Allah has cursed them for their disbelief. Many of them do not believe."
The Cattle/6:25 "Some of them listen to you. But We put veils over their hearts to prevent them from understanding and weights over their ears. Even if they see every miracle, they do not believe in it. So when they come to you, they dispute with you, and the disbelievers say, "This is but a myth."
The Cattle/6:93 "Who is more unjust than he who fabricates a lie in the name of Allah and says, "I am being revealed to me,"when nothing has been revealed to him, and says, "I will send down what Allah has sent down, as Allah has sent down"! Behold the wrongdoers in the hour of their agony! The angels stretch out their hands: "Give your lives! You will be punished this day with a shameful torment for saying what is not true about Allah and for your arrogance and pride in His signs (revelation and miracles). "
The Heights/7:146 I will turn away from My miracles those who are unjustly arrogant in the earth. Even if they see all kinds of miracles, they will not believe. If they see the right path, they do not follow it. But if they see the way of transgression, they follow it. For they denied Our Verses and paid no heed.
Prophet Jonah/10:15 "When Our clear Verses are recited to them, those who do not hope to meet Us say: "Bring another Qur´an other than this, or change it!"Say: "I cannot change it from my own side. I follow only what has been revealed to me. If I disobey my Lord, I fear the punishment of a great Day."
Mary/19:73 "When Our Verses are clearly recited to them, the disbelievers say to the believers, "Which of us is more prosperous and which of us has the numerical superiority?"
The Pilgrimage/22:72 "You read disbelief on the faces of the disbelievers when Our clear Verses are recited to them. They will almost attack those who recite Our Verses to them. Say, "Shall I inform you of something worse than that? Fire! Allah has promised it to the disbelievers. What an evil consequence!"
The Believers/23:24 "The prominent disbelievers of his people said, "This is nothing but a man like you. He wants to rule over you. Had Allah willed, He could have sent down an angel. We did not hear anything like this from our first ancestors."
The Believers/23:64 When We punish the wealthy, they begin to complain.
The Believers/23:65 Do not complain; this Day you will not receive any help from Us.
The Believers/23:66 My Verses were recited to you, but you used to turn back.
The Believers/23:67 You were arrogant against it, and you were spending the night in nonsense.
The Poets/26:5 Whenever a new message comes to them from the Most Merciful, they turn away from it.
The Poets/26:6 The news will reach them of that which they took in amusement because they denied.
Yaseen/36:30 It is a pity for the people. Whenever a messenger came to them, they used to mock him.
Those Who Set The Ranks/37:12 They mock while you admire them.
Those Who Set The Ranks/37:13 They do not take admonition when they are reminded.
Those Who Set The Ranks/37:14 When they see a proof, they ridicule it.
Those Who Set The Ranks/37:15 "They say, "This is nothing but a manifest magic."
Those Who Set The Ranks/37:16 Shall we be resurrected after we have died and become dust and bones?
Those Who Set The Ranks/37:17 Even our ancestors before us?
The Arabic Letter Sad/38:4 "They thought it strange that a warner should come to them from among themselves. The disbelievers said, "This is a sorcerer, a liar."
The Kneeling/45:25 "When Our clear Verses are recited to them, they have no proof but to say, "Bring back our fathers if you are truthful."
The Kneeling/45:31 "As for those who disbelieved: "Were not Our Verses recited to you and you were arrogant and a guilty people?"
The Kneeling/45:32 "When they were told that the Word of Allah is a truth and that the Hour is an inevitable event, you used to say: "We do not know what the Hour is, we only have various conjectures and we have no certain knowledge about it"."
The Sandhills/46:3 We did not create the heavens and the earth and all that is between them except for a purpose and for a definite term. Those who disbelieve do not heed the warning.
The Sandhills/46:7 "When Our clear Verses were recited to them, those who opposed the truth that came to them said: "This is clearly sorcery"."
The Pen/68:15 "When Our Verses are recited to him, he says: "Myth"."
The Defrauding/83:12 Only the sinners lie to it.
The Defrauding/83:13 "When Our Verses were conveyed to him, he used to say: "Myth"."
The Splitting Asunder/84:20 So why do they not believe?
The Splitting Asunder/84:21 Why do they not accept the Qur´an when it is recited to them?
The Splitting Asunder/84:22 On the contrary, the disbelievers deny.
