The Forgiver - 40:12 Because when Allah ALONE was called, you disbelieved. You used to believe only when partners were associated with Him. The judgment belongs to Allah, the Exalted and the Great.
The disbelief of those who are called to serve Allah alone:
The Heights/7:59 "We sent Noah to his people: "O my people, worship Allah. You have no god besides Him. I fear for you the torment of a great day."
The Heights/7:60 "The elders of his people said: "We see you in manifest error"."
The Heights/7:70 "They said: "Have you come to us that we may serve Allah alone and abandon what our forefathers served? Bring us what you threatened us with if you are truthful."
Prophet Jonah/10:78 "They said: "Have you come to us to turn us away from that on which we found our fathers, so that greatness in the earth may remain for the two of you? We will never believe in you."
Prophet Hud/11:53 "They said: "O Hud, you have not come to us with a clear proof. We will not abandon our religion on your word alone, nor will we believe in you."
Prophet Hud/11:54 "He said: "We say that you have been struck by one of our gods": "I bear Allah as a witness, and you bear witness that I am far from that which you associate as partners."
Prophet Hud/11:62 "They said: "O Salih, before this you were a popular source of hope among us. Do you now forbid us from what our forefathers used to serve? We are in doubt about what you call us to."
Prophet Abraham/14:9 "Has not reached you the news of those who were before you, of Noah and the people of Aad and Thamud and those who came after them, whom only Allah knows? Their messengers went to them with clear proofs, but they despised them and said: "We disbelieve in what you have brought and we have doubts and misgivings about the message to which you call us"."
Prophet Abraham/14:10 "Their messengers said: "Do you doubt Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth, and He calls you to forgive you your sins and gives you a certain period of time?"They said: "You are but men like us, and you want to turn us away from that which our forefathers used to serve. Bring us a clear authorization"."
The Criterion/25:41 "Whenever they see you, they ridicule you: "Is this the one whom Allah has sent as a messenger?"
