The Star - 53:20 And Menat, the third of them?
In the context of verses 19, 20...23; the Makkan society took the angels as gods, calling them daughters of Allah, and worshipped/served them, hoping for their intercession:

Those Who Set The Ranks/37:151 Indeed they say because of what they fabricate:
Those Who Set The Ranks/37:152 "Allah gave birth."They are liars."
Those Who Set The Ranks/37:153 Did He prefer girls to boys?
The Ornaments of Gold/43:19 They considered the angels, the servants of the Most Merciful, as female! Did they witness their creation? Their testimony will be recorded and they will be questioned.
The Ornaments of Gold/43:20 "They even said, "If the Most Merciful had willed, we would not have served them". They have no knowledge of this. They are only guessing."
The Ornaments of Gold/43:21 Did We give them a Book before this that they rely on it?
