The Table Spread - 5:50 Or do they seek the laws of the time of ignorance? Can there be a better lawgiver than Allah for those who have firm faith based on knowledge?
The unbelieving Jews of the Meccan society, like their forefathers, fought against Muhammad (pbuh) in order to make additions and changes to the revelation:
The Family Of Imran/3:59 "For Allah, the example of Jesus is like the example of Adam; He formed him from the dust of the ground, then said to him, "Be,"and he became."

The Night Journey/17:73 They would almost have led you astray from what We have revealed to you so that you might invent something else and attribute it to Us. Then they would have taken you as a friend.
The Night Journey/17:74 If We had not made you firm, you would almost have inclined to them a little
The Night Journey/17:75 Then We would have made you taste the torment of life and death multiplied, then you would not have found any helper against Us.
The Ornaments of Gold/43:57 When the son of Mary was shown as an example, your people immediately rejected.

The Women/4:60 Do you not see those who claim to believe in you and in what has been sent down to you and in what has been sent down before you, but they want to follow the laws of the unjust and despotic, while they were commanded to disbelieve in it, but Satan wants to lead them astray.
The Women/4:51 "Do you not see those who have been given a share of the Book? They believe in idolatry and false doctrines, and say of those who disbelieve, "These are more rightly guided than those who believe"."
The Table Spread/5:41 "Do not let not the zeal of those who say with their mouths, "We believe"but do not believe with their hearts grieve you. There is a group of the Jews who listen to lies and listen to a people who have never met you. They twist the meaning of words. They say, "If this is given to you, take it, and if not, beware."If Allah wishes to mislead anyone, no one can help him against Allah. Those are they whose hearts Allah does not wish to purify. For them is humiliation in this world and a great torment in the Hereafter."
The Cow/2:59 But the wrongdoers among you exchanged the words given to them for other words. Indeed, We sent down a torment from the sky upon the wrongdoers because they went astray.
The Cow/2:140 "Do you claim that Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob and their descendants were Jews or Christians? Say: "Do you know better or Allah? Who is more unjust than he who conceals what Allah has revealed? Allah is not heedless of what you do."
The Cow/2:146 Those to whom We have given the Book recognize these truths as they recognize their children, yet a group of them knowingly conceal the truth.
The Cow/2:147 This is the truth from your Lord; so do not doubt.
The Cow/2:159 Those who conceal the clear proofs and guidance which We have sent down - after We have made it public in the Book - are cursed by Allah and all those who curse.
The Cow/2:174 Those who conceal something from the Book which Allah has sent down and exchange it for a little, they are stuffing fire in their bellies. Allah will not speak to them on the Day of Resurrection nor purify them. For them is a painful torment.
The Cow/2:175 They have bought error for guidance and torment for forgiveness. How resistant they are to the fire!
The Family Of Imran/3:77 Those who exchange their pledge to Allah and their oaths for a small price have no share in the Hereafter. Allah will not speak to them, nor will He look upon them on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He purify them. For them is a painful torment.
The Family Of Imran/3:187 "Allah had taken a promise from those to whom the Book was given, saying, "You will certainly make it clear to the people and you will not conceal it."But they threw it behind their backs and sold it for a small price. What an evil exchange!"
The Table Spread/5:13 We cursed them and hardened their hearts because they broke their promises. They take the meaning of words out of context. They have forgotten some of what they were warned about. From most of them you will see constant betrayal. Forgive them and ignore them. Allah loves those who do good.
The Table Spread/5:15 People of the Book, our messenger has come to you, who has revealed to you many parts of the Book which you have concealed, and many of them he has not thrown in your faces. And there has come to you a light from Allah and a clear Book.
Mary/19:58 These are some of the prophets whom Allah has blessed. From the descendants of Adam, from those whom We carried with Noah, from the descendants of Abraham and Israel. They are those whom We have guided and chosen. When the verses of the Most Merciful are recited to them, they prostrate themselves weeping.
Mary/19:59 Those who came after them lost the prayer and followed their desires. Indeed, they will suffer calamity.
