بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّح۪يمِ
12:21 "The one who bought him in Egypt said to his wife, "Take good care of him, lest he be of use to us, or we adopt him as our son."So We placed Joseph on the earth and taught him the interpretation of dreams. God is the Exalted in His work, but most of the people do not know it."
12:22 When he grew up, We gave him wisdom and knowledge, and thus do We reward those who do good.
12:23 "The woman in whose house he was wanted to seduce him, so he locked the doors and said: "I belong to you completely."He said: "I seek refuge in Allah. He is my Lord, who has given me a good place. The wrongdoers will not succeed."
12:24 She lusted after him, and he would have lusted after her too had he not seen the sign of his Lord. So We turned away evil and mischief from him, and he was of Our pure servants.
12:25 "They ran towards the door. She tore his shirt from behind. They met her master near the door. The woman said: "Should not he who wants to rape your wife be imprisoned or punished with a painful torment?"
12:26 "He said: "Actually, your wife wanted to seduce me."A family witness said: "If her shirt is torn in the front, she is telling the truth and he is a liar."
12:27 "He testified, "If her shirt is torn from the back, then she is a liar and he is truthful."
12:28 "When he saw that her shirt was torn in the back, he said, "This is the plan of you women. Your plan is great."
12:29 Joseph, forget this incident. And you ask forgiveness for your sin. You have committed a mistake.
12:30 "Some women in the city: "The governor´s wife is trying to seduce her maid,"they said, "She is madly in love with him. We see her in a clear perversion."
12:31 "When the woman heard their gossip, she invited them. She prepared comfortable places for them. She gave each of them a knife. (While they were busy peeling the fruit, she said to Joseph:) "Come into their presence."When the women saw him, they were so impressed that they cut their hands and said: "God forbid, this is not a human being, but a noble angel"."
12:32 "(She said): "This is what you accused me of. I wanted to seduce him, but he kept (his chastity) and refused me. If he does not do what I command him, he will be thrown into prison and humiliated"."
12:33 "(Joseph:) "My Lord, prison is better than what they call me to. If you do not repel their plans from me, I will be of the ignorant ones."
12:34 His Lord answered his prayer and warded off their plans from him. He is the Hearing, the Knowing.
12:35 Then, although they (the governor and his men) saw the evidence (of Joseph´s innocence), they decided to put him in prison for a certain period of time.
12:36 "Two young men entered the prison with him. One of them said: "I saw myself (in a dream) making wine."The other said: "I also saw myself carrying bread on my head, and the birds were eating it. Tell us the interpretation of these things. We consider you one of the righteous."
12:37 I can give you the interpretation of the caravan meal that has been allotted to you before it is delivered to you. This is from what my Lord has taught me. I have abandoned the religion of a people who do not believe in Allah, and they are disbelievers in the Hereafter.
12:38 I have followed the religion of my fathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and it is not befitting us to associate anything with Allah. This is Allah´s favor upon us and upon the people. But most people do not give thanks.
12:39 O my fellow prisoners, are the various lords better, or Allah, the One and Sovereign over all?
12:40 Those whom you serve besides Him are but names invented by you and your fathers. Allah has not given them any power. The judgment belongs to Allah alone. He has commanded you to serve Him alone. This is the true religion. But most of the people do not know this.
