بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّح۪يمِ
2:101 When a messenger came to them from Allah confirming what was with them, some of those who were given the Book threw the Book of Allah behind their backs. As if they did not know.
2:102 "They followed what the devils told them about the authority of Solomon. But Solomon did not disbelieve; it was the devils who taught the people sorcery and what was revealed to the two angels Harut and Marut in Babylon. These two said: "This is a test; do not be ungrateful (by misusing this knowledge)."But they used what they learned from those two to drive a wedge between a husband and his wife. But they could not harm anyone without Allah´s permission. They were learning that which harmed them, not that which benefited them. Moreover, they knew well that those who were its customers had no share in the Hereafter. How bad is that for which they sold their personalities. If only they knew!"
2:103 Had they believed and avoided sins, surely their reward from Allah would have been much better. If only they knew!
2:104 "The believers! Do not say, "Raina (shepherd us),"but say, "Unzurna (watch over us),"and listen. There is a painful torment for the disbelievers."
2:105 Neither the disbelievers of the People of the Book nor the idolaters wish that any good should be sent down to you from your Lord. Allah bestows His mercy on whom He wills. Allah is the owner of great bounty.
2:106 We do not abrogate a miracle or a law or make it forgotten unless We bring a better or a similar one. Do you not know that Allah is all-powerful?
2:107 Do you not know that the sovereignty of the heavens and the earth belongs to Allah and that you have no master or helper except Allah?
2:108 Do you desire to make demands of your messenger as Moses was asked before? Whoever exchanges faith for disbelief has lost the right path.
2:109 Many of the People of the Book desire, out of jealousy in their hearts, to turn you back to disbelief after your faith, even though the truth is clear to them. Forgive them and ignore them until Allah brings His command. Allah is all-powerful.
2:110 Observe the prayer and pay the zakat. Whatever good you do for yourselves, you will surely find it in the sight of Allah. Allah sees everything you do.
2:111 "They said: "None but Jews or Christians will enter Paradise". This is their delusion. Say: "Bring your proofs if you are truthful."
2:112 Indeed, whoever does good and submits himself to Allah, his reward is with his Lord; there is no fear for them and they shall not grieve.
2:113 "The Jews said: "The Christians have no foundation,"while the Christians say: "The Jews have no foundation."Yet they all read the Book. The ignorant speak just like them. On the Day of Resurrection Allah will judge between them on the matters on which they differed."
2:114 Who is worse than he who prevents the remembrance of His Name in the mosques of Allah and works for their destruction? Yet they should only enter them in fear. For them is disgrace in this world and a great torment in the Hereafter.
2:115 To Allah belongs the east and the west. Wherever you turn, there is the face of Allah. Allah is all-encompassing and all-knowing.
2:116 "They said: "Allah has taken a child". Glory be to Him. To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth, and to Him all is subject."
2:117 "He it is Who created the heavens and the earth out of nothing. If He wills something to happen, He only says, "Be,"and it happens."
2:118 "The ignorant said, "Should not Allah have spoken to us or a sign (miracle) have come to us?"Those before them had spoken like them. Their minds are alike. We show the miracles to those who believe."
2:119 We have sent you with the truth, a bearer of glad tidings and a warner. You are not responsible for the people of Hell.
2:120 "Neither the Jews nor the Christians will be pleased with you unless you enter into their religion. Say: "The right way is the way of Allah."If you follow their desires after the knowledge that has come to you, you will find neither a friend nor a supporter to defend you against Allah."
