بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّح۪يمِ
2:141 They were a people; they have passed away. What they earned is theirs and what you earn is yours. You will not be questioned about what they did.
2:142 "Some fools among the people: "What made them turn away from the Qiblah to which they used to turn?"Say: "To Allah belongs the east and the west. He guides whoever He wills."
2:143 So We made you a clear-minded people so that you may be witnesses among the people and the Messenger may be a witness among you. And We changed the Qiblah, which you used to turn towards, to distinguish between those who follow the Messenger and those who turn back on their heels. Surely this is too much for anyone except those whom Allah guides. Allah will not make your faith vain. Allah is Compassionate to mankind, Most Merciful.
2:144 We see you turning your face towards the sky. We will turn you to a Qiblah that you will like. So turn your face to the Holy Mosque. Turn your faces in that direction wherever you are. Surely those to whom the Book has been given know that this is a truth from their Lord. Allah is not heedless of what they do.
2:145 Even if you bring to those who have been given the Book all kinds of signs (miracles), they will still not turn towards your Qiblah. Nor will you follow their qibla. Nor do they follow each other´s qibla. If you follow their pleasure after this knowledge has come to you, you will be of the wrongdoers.
2:146 Those to whom We have given the Book recognize these truths as they recognize their children, yet a group of them knowingly conceal the truth.
2:148 Each one of you has a direction and a method he has chosen; so compete in goodness. Wherever you are, Allah will bring you together. Surely Allah is all-powerful.
2:149 Wherever you set out, you should turn your face towards the Holy Mosque (for prayer). This is surely a truth from your Lord. Allah is not unaware of anything you do.
2:150 Wherever you set out, turn your face towards the Holy Mosque (for prayer). Wherever you are, turn your faces towards it, so that the people may not criticize you. As for the wrongdoers, do not fear them, but fear Me, so that I may complete My favor upon you and you may reach the truth.
2:151 Indeed, We have chosen and sent from among you a messenger who will recite to you My signs, purify you, teach you the Book and wisdom, and inform you of what you do not know.
2:152 Remember Me that I may remember you, and thank Me, and do not be ungrateful.
2:153 Believers! Seek help against difficulties with patience and prayer. Allah is with those who are patient.
2:154 "Do not say to those who are killed in the Way of Allah, "They are dead". On the contrary, they are alive, but you do not realize it."
2:155 We will test you with fear, hunger, loss of money, lives, and crops. Give good news to those who are patient.
2:156 "That when a calamity comes upon them, they say: "To Allah we belong and to Him we return"."
2:157 For them is support and mercy from their Lord. They are the rightly guided.
2:158 Safa and Marwa (the hills) are among the signs of Allah. He who comes to the House for pilgrimage or visitation (Umrah) may go back and forth between them. And whoever does a good deed out of the heart, Allah is the Recompenser of thanks, the All-Knowing.
2:159 Those who conceal the clear proofs and guidance which We have sent down - after We have made it public in the Book - are cursed by Allah and all those who curse.
2:160 Except those who turn and correct themselves and explain (the Book); I accept their repentance. I am the Accepter of repentance, the Most Merciful.
