بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّح۪يمِ
2:61 "But you said, "Moses! We will no longer be able to endure a single kind of food. Call your Lord for us and let Him grow for us beans, squash, garlic, lentils, onions, and whatever the earth produces,"and He said, "Do you want to exchange what is good for what is inferior? Go back to Egypt, and there you will find what you seek."So they were condemned to lowliness and poverty and incurred the wrath of Allah. Because they were always ungrateful to the signs of Allah and killed the prophets unjustly. Because they were disobedient and transgressors."
2:62 Believers, Jews, Christians and whoever of other religions: Whoever believes in Allah and the Hereafter and leads a virtuous life, their reward is with their Lord. There is no fear and no sorrow for them.
2:63 "We once took a promise from you when We raised Mount Sinai over you, saying: "Hold fast to what We have given you and remember what is in it, that you may be protected"."
2:64 But after that you turned away. Had it not been for Allah´s bounty and mercy upon you, you would have lost.
2:65 "Surely you know those of you who transgressed the prohibition of Saturday. We said to them: "Be despicable monkeys"."
2:66 We made this punishment a lesson for their contemporaries and the generations to come, and an admonition for righteous men.
2:67 "Remember when Moses said to his people: "Allah commands you to slaughter a heifer". When they said, "Are you mocking us?"he said, "I seek refuge in Allah from acting ignorantly."
2:68 "They said, "Call your Lord for us, so that He may explain to us its nature."He says, "He is neither old nor young, a heifer in the middle of the two. Do what you are commanded,"he said."
2:69 "They said, "Call your Lord for us and let Him explain to us her color."They said: "He says that she is a heifer of bright yellow color, and that she makes those who look at her feel good."
2:70 "He said: "Call your Lord for us, so that He may explain to us more about her. For heifers look alike to us. If Allah wills, we shall find the way"."
2:71 "He said, "He says that it is a heifer that plows the ground and waters the crops and is not oppressed under the yoke, a heifer without blemish.""Now you have brought the truth!"and they slaughtered the heifer; they almost did not do it."
2:72 Remember when you killed a man and blamed it on each other. But Allah was going to reveal what you concealed.
2:73 "We said, "Strike him (the murdered one) with a part (of the heifer)."This is how Allah raises the dead to life and shows His signs (miracles) so that you may reflect."
2:74 And yet your hearts have hardened, like stones, even harder. For there are stones from which rivers gush forth. Some of them split open and water comes out of their bosom. And some cower out of reverence for Allah. Allah is not unaware of what you do.
2:75 Do you hope that they will believe in you, whereas some of them, after hearing the word of Allah, would deliberately change it.
2:76 "When they meet the believers, they say: "We believe"; but when they are alone with them, they say: "Do you tell them what Allah has revealed to you so that they may use it as evidence against you in the sight of your Lord?"
2:77 Do they not know that Allah knows all that they conceal and all that they reveal?
2:78 There are among them Ummahs among them who do not know the Book except by imagination and rumor, but they think that they know.
2:79 Woe to those who write the Book with their hands and then say that it is from Allah in order to sell it at a cheap price. Woe to them for what their hands have written. Woe to them for what they have earned!
2:80 "They said: "The Fire will not touch us except for a few numbered days". Say: "Have you taken such a promise from Allah that Allah does not break His promise, or do you say in the name of Allah what you do not know?"
