بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّح۪يمِ
7:141 Remember when We saved you from the followers of Pharaoh who inflicted upon you the worst torment, leaving your women alive and killing your children. In this was a great test for you from your Lord.
7:142 "We made a covenant with Moses for thirty nights and added to it ten nights, so the time appointed by your Lord was completed to forty nights. Moses said to his brother Aaron, "Take my place among my people and act righteously. And do not follow the way of those who do corruption."
7:143 "When Moses came to us at the appointed time and his Lord spoke to him, he said, "My Lord, appear to me and let me look at you. "You cannot see me. But look at this mountain; if it stands still, then you will see me."When his Lord appeared to the mountain, He shattered it, and Moses fell unconscious. When he came to his senses, he said, "You are great, to You I turn, and I am the foremost of the believers."
7:144 "He said: "Moses, I have chosen you over the people by My messages and by My speaking to you, so take what I have given you and be of the thankful."
7:145 "We wrote on tablets for Moses a detailed explanation of all things and an admonition: "Hold fast to this teaching, and tell your people to hold fast to it in the best way. I will show you the final destination of the wayward."
7:146 I will turn away from My miracles those who are unjustly arrogant in the earth. Even if they see all kinds of miracles, they will not believe. If they see the right path, they do not follow it. But if they see the way of transgression, they follow it. For they denied Our Verses and paid no heed.
7:147 What those who deny Our Verses and the meeting of the Hereafter do is in vain. Will they not be recompensed for what they used to do?
7:148 The people of Moses made after him a calf of ornaments, a calf with a roar, and idolized it. Did they not see that it was incapable of speaking and guiding them? They became of the wrongdoers by adopting it.
7:149 "When they regretted what they had done and realized that they had gone astray, they said: "If our Lord does not pity us and forgive us, we shall be losers"."
7:150 "When Moses returned to his people, angry and disappointed, they said, "What evil deeds you have done after me! Have you not been able to endure the command of your Lord?"He threw down the plates, grabbed his brother´s head and pulled him towards him: "Son of my mother,"he said, "these people have taken advantage of my weakness, and they almost killed me. Do not make the enemy laugh by coming upon me, and do not associate me with this cruel people."
7:151 "(Moses) said: "My Lord, forgive me and my brother. Have mercy on us. You are the most merciful of the merciful."
7:152 Those who idolize the calf will incur a wrath from their Lord and a humiliation in the life of this world. This is how We punish the slanderers.
7:153 For those who repent and believe after they have done evil, your Lord is Forgiving, Merciful after that.
7:154 When Moses´ nerves calmed down, he took the tablets. On them was written guidance and mercy for those who honor their Lord.
7:155 "Moses chose seventy men from among his people for an appointment with us. When a tremor seized them, they said: "My Lord, if You had willed, You would have destroyed them and me before. Will You destroy us because of what the foolish among us have done? This must be a test arranged by You. Whomsoever You will, You will lead astray by it, and whomsoever You will, You will guide by it. You are our Master; forgive us and have pity on us. You are the best Forgiver."
7:156 "Write for us good in this world and in the Hereafter. We turn to you."He said: "My punishment will touch whom I will. But My Mercy is all-encompassing; I will write it especially for those who lead a righteous life, pay the zakat and believe in Our verses."
7:157 Indeed, they follow (when the time comes) that messenger whom they find written in the Torah and the Gospel with them, the Messenger of Allah, the Messenger of the Ummim (who has not read the Torah and the Gospel), who enjoins upon them good and forbids them from evil, who makes lawful for them good things and forbids for them unclean things, who removes from them the weights and the fetters that weigh them down. Those who believe in him and respect him and help him and follow the light sent down with him are the successful ones.
7:158 "Say: "O people, I am a messenger for you all from Allah, who has the sovereignty of the heavens and the earth. There is no god but Him. He gives life and kills."Believe in Allah and in His Messenger, who is an ummah, for he believes in Allah and in His words. Follow him so that you may find the truth."
7:159 There was a people of Moses´ people who showed the truth and did justice with it.
7:160 "We divided them into twelve tribes, and when his people asked him for water, We revealed to Moses, "Strike a stone with your staff."Twelve springs gushed from it, and each tribe knew where to drink. We also overshadowed them with clouds and sent down on them manna and quail: "Eat of what I have provided for you."They were not wronging Us, they were wronging themselves."
